Creature Design

Summer creature design.  The bird creature is a big scavenger that can sting things.  We were required to add elements of different creatures, but in another pass on it, I would take out the stinger.  The dog creature is a working dog that kills farm pests on an imaginary planet not unlike our own.

Digital Quick Study

This is a digital drawing I did for advanced perspective class.  The goal was to give a sense of story through the composition.  

We are not the same, I am a Martian.

Since I'm taking Digital Painting next semester, I thought it best to get some early practice.  I decided to draw a Martian.  He's part Mars Attacks, part Marvin.  I still need to get to a few areas but I'm done working on it for the night so here he is!

Just in time for christmas I've got some drawings of a scary killer.  These are the best drawings from the last day of character design class, 5 minutes each.  I learned a lot in that class and I've got to say, I enjoyed drawing this scary dude way more than anything else we did.  I think I'm going to tackle the second one on photoshop when I get a chance.

These are some of the drawings I've been doing in character design.  The aim is to take the pose and push the shapes to give it more character.  You might recognize Tarzan in some of the drawings.  They are all 5 minute drawings on smooth newsprint.

Zorro Thumbnails

These are the thumbnails for my Zorro project.  I initially did them with color markers quickly found black is better.  Also, all black is way more Zorro steez.  Some of the hands didn't appear on the scan because I drew them two lightly. I like the high waist matador style the best.
